Mis s Marchbanks won the eighth, and the ninth was halved. At this stage the weather, which had been fairly good, developed into a high wind with driving rain. In spite of this, however, the players produced very much better golf; but Miss Marchbanks could not shake off the lead the match finishing on the seventeenth green. .
