Hutt, with a fine total of 234 for peveh jfor the, first day, declared their innings'closed when the match with Institute';was resumed at the Hutt on Saturday. Institute's response was notgood enough to avert a follow on, the total being 104, and in their second innings: they again failed to reach their opponents' total, although Griffiths and Foley made an excellent endeavour to play out time.- The only s mari to score over 20 in Institute's first innings was Nelson',-who, going in first wicket down, carried' iiis bat for 22. In the second innings,, however, he was thrown out be- i iore :he .had scored. The star performer in the .second innings was Foley, who held his wicket up for 30, and, with j Griffithsi (14), almost prevented Hutt from securing a four-point win.
