WARRNAMBOOL TO MELBOURNE
FASTEST TIME GOES AGAIN TO O'SHEA.

MELBOUENE, 28th October. The Warrnambool cycle road race was run under favourable conditions. Out of 275 entrants 195 started. Fast times were made.' Though three Victorians occupied the leading places at the finish, Phil O'Shea, of New Zealand, the scratch man, again secured the fastest time, 7 hours 51 minutes 41 seconds. R. Wells (Victoria), with 56min allowance, finished first; E. Osborne (Victoria), 6min allowance, second; C. Wells (Victoria), 56min allowance, third. The winner's time was 8 hours 37min ssec. At the finish of the race O'Shea beat Beasley home by a bare length. The New Zealander swerved just before the line was reached, and Basley entered a protest, but this Was dismissed. An attack was made on the professional road record for 100 miles, of 5 hours lmin 7sec, made by. Munro in 1910. J. Beasley got well inside this with 4 hours 37min 57sec. The amatieur ICO miles Pace from Colao to Melbourne resulted:—N. M'Leod (6min allowance), 4 hours 55min 22sec, first; A. R. Smalle (20min), ' 5 hours,' 9min, 22sec, second; C. Cuttin" (18min), 5 hours 40min 22sec, third. Ramsden-; (Queensland) secured th6,fastest time, 4 hours 52 mm 42sec.
