STRAND THEATRE.
Pictures and stories which make, the most lasting impressions are those which deal with normal people in normal surToundings, and have a sprinkling of tears, a laugh here and there, and a mystery that thrills and quickens the pulses. Such a picture is "Shadows," now screening at the Strand Theatre. On the sunniest day "shadows" are strongest, and in the darkest hour of the. :nigh,t,. the "shadows" are deepest—just before 1 the dawn. "Shadows" is a slice of life all-engrossing as life itself, unravelling its twisted threads. The second feature is one of the most delightful screen attractions, "The Girl with the ; JazzHeart," starring Madge Kennedy. It? is a story of a little country maid who comes to the city in search of a husband through a nmtrimonjal agency. Of the adventures which she went through in the city cabarets, among the gay set of the city and the "jazz fiends," tie story is rich in the telling. Supports include Chapter 1- of "Around the World in .Eighteen Days," the hero having arrived at, Ajonte Carlo, and ths latest Pathe Gazette.
