VAST SWARMS HATCHING.

(Eeceived 12th October, 10 a.m.) CAPETOWN, Hth October, lhere are indications from all parts ot country that an invasion of locusts on an unprecedented scale will occur next summer. Vast swarms, sometimes square mile 3 in extent, are hatching out, and it is expected that they will be enormously increased when the rain comes. The Government and farmers are waging a vigorous war of destruction, but the outlook for the farmers is regarded as very grave.
