STRAND THEATRE.
The chief attraction on the new programme, which commenced at the btrand Theatre this, ' morning-, is Lon Chaney's latest starring- vehicle, "Sha-dows." An interesting situation forms the principal theme. A woman who thought- her husband killed in a shipwreck marries a clergyman. After their baby is born the clergyman receives a letter signed by his wife's' first husband, threatening him with disgrace unless he pays a large sum of money. How tha mystery of the first husband is soived, and what part a Chinaman plays in this film, hold the interest for seven reels Harrison Ford plays the part of .he clergyman, and Lon Chancy that of the Chinaman. Marguerite de la Motte piays the part of the woman accused of having two husbands. The supporting feature is "The Girl with the J.J Heart Madge Kennedy, a popular httle star plays the role of a young girl who breaks away from an over-conven-tional atmosphere to enter the whirl of life in the big city.
