AMATEUR ATHLETICS
WELLINGTON LADIES' CLUB,
The ladies' branch of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club held its second annual meeting in the V.M.C.A. rooms last evening, Mr. A. C. Kitto presiding. The report and balance-sheet, details of which have been published in "The Post," were adopted. The chairman and Mr. F. Hodson congratulated the club onthe success which it had achieved during the first season's activities. The ladies had put up some very creditable performances on the track, said Mr. Kitto, and they would have an opportunity of~ starting again on Labour Day, when there would be two races T . £ les- Jt was hoJ? ed that the «se of Athletic Park would be again granted by the Wellington Bugby Union for training purposes. Mr. Hodson . referred to the fine conduct and sporting spirit shown by the members; and he expressed the hope that the coming season would again be a success. In connection with the proposal' to take part in field events this season, the ■meeting decided to defer an extension of operations in that direction until the effects of training had been observed Umcers for the ensuing years were elected as follow : President, Mrs A C Kitto; vice-presidents, Lady Luke, Mrs!
