ASSISTANT PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSIONER
It is understood that Mr. A. D. Park, at present acting as Secretary of the Marine Department, has been appointed Assistant Public Service Commissioner. On the retirement on superannuation of Mr. W. R. Morris, Mr. P. Verschaffelt was appointed Public Service Commissioner. This left the position of Assistant Public Service Commissioner vacant.
Mr. A. D. Park is 41 years of age. He joined the Public Service in 1900, after passing the Public Service Entrance Examination. He wag in the Public Works Department, and had experience in various parts of the Northand South Islands. Mr. Park served m the South African War. He is a qualiSfr ,aocon? tant- Qn leaving the Public Works Department he was appointed accountant to the Department of Agriculture and ieorganis_ed system of' accounting there, besides introducing commercial systems for the experimental 'and special farms. Subsequently, he was appointed inspector in the Public Service Commissioner's Office, and early in 1922 was appointed to the Marine Department as Acting-Secretary, and afterwards as Secretary.
