GUARDING SUGAR CANE

(AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) BRISBANE, 2nd October. The sugar cane farmers in the Cairns district are guarding their crops, owing to the number of fires recently which destroyed hundreds of tons of cane. The outbreaks are due to incendiarism, but tho motive is not stated.
