OFFICIAL VISIT TO TAUMAKU-

NUI.

TAUMARUNUI, 2nd October. The Governor-General visited Thumarunui. to-day to open the new technical school. The weather was fine. Lord Jellcooe was given a rousing reception, and after inspecting war veterans, was motored to Manunui, where he was the guest of Messrs. Ellis and isurnand, sawmillers, who had arranged a trip into the bush. The party penetrated eight miles into the bush on an improvised motor conveyance run over the bush tramline. The conveyance ran off the line when traveling slowly round a bend, and the party alighted and helped to replace it, Lord JeUicoe and his aide. Captain Love, giving willing assistance.
