LONDON, 30th September. : The "Daily Telegraph's" correspondent at Madrid says that life in Spain was never so peaceful as at present. Swift, rigid enforcement of the law has created a panic among criminals, and people are beginning to know what it is to go about their ordinary affairs with-, out the continual menace of grave disv turbances and outbreaks of terrorism.
The worker is no longer at the mercy of agitators, and strikes have ended. ' Another phase of the movement is m vigorous campaign throughout the country against unscrupulous tradesmen with the result that food prices have sii eady begun lo fall. The country is de« lighted with the change, and the Direc, torys policy is being increasingly sup.potted. . . J .
