CASPER TRAGEDY

TRAIN SINKS DEEPER IN RIVER.

(UNITED PRESS. ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.)

(ADSTRALIAN - NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.)

NEW YORK, 29th September. v-The number of deaths in the train wreck at Casper is now estimated at between 40 and 55.

It rained and snowed all day, and the flood is unabated. It is impossible to recover the bodies, and the locomotive and five coaches are sinking deeper into the riverbed.

The exact death list will perhaps be undiscoverable, because the smoker waa crowded with casual passengers, some of whom were not supplied with tickets until boarding the train. The bodies can be seen through the windows of half-submerged cars.
