T'lß Press tournament was cctofc'iuued on Saturday afternoon, when te»«i s representing "The New Zealand Times" and "The Dominion" met at Ejnerson Street Reserve. The weather yrae ideal —too warm for football—and tljc play was generally of good order, though the hard nature of the ground hjd an adverse effect upon the play. The "Times" were distinctly superior in the first spell, arid ran up a tally oi 18 points, but matters were mftro even in the second half. The final'score was: N.Z. Times 23, Dominion 6. For the winners Bedell scored three tr.ies and Whittingtori two. Whittington converted two and Jones and Mummery' one each. Harris scored a try for "The Dominion," and Butler kicked/a penalty goal. Bedell and Butler were the outstanding players. Mr. 0. Scott was: the referee.
