SELWYN FOOTBALL CLUB
In Dustin's Rooms, Cuba street, on ?_- tu™a,y night, the smoke concert of the Sehvyn Football Club was held. Musical items were given, community choruses sung, and a siring orchestra provided pleasing melodies. In proposing the toast of "The Sejwyn Football Club," Mr. Millard said that though the club did not stand very high up the championship ladder, th« members were not dismayed at their reverses, but cjme up smiling every time. This was the spirit that brought success. Mr. F. A. Laws, replying to'the toast ;of "The Wellington Rugby Football iUnion," dealt with the hard and much-qriticised duties of the referees, who coydd not please everybody, and whose tas^s were often of a thankless nature. The singing of the National Anthem brought a pleasant evening to a close.
