FIND OF SOVEREIGNS

PROFITABLE GARDENING.

(BT TELEGRAPH.—SPECIAL TO THE POST.)

PALMERSTON.N., This Day. When gardening on Sunday a local Resident unexpectedly came across a large sum in sovereigns and half-sovereigns, the section being one which he had recently bought. The coins were scattered over an area of six feet by five feet, and at depths varying from four to ten inches. The dales on the coins, all of which were in an excellent state of preservation, are from 1837 to 1891.
