The professional championship was rearranged, all taking p 3r t. The results were :— '. . - Arthur Brooks a bye. Galloway beat Butters, 3 and 2. Ham defeated Watt, who retired *t the end of the first round. Shaw defeated Macrae, 7 and 6. Blair beat M'Cormack, 6 and 5. Hood beat Greig, 5 and 4 Moss beat Forrest, 8 and 6. Clements a bye.
Hum m his first round, did 75. Shaw finished up Ins ma tch in sensational fashion by doing 4, 3, 3, 3, for the tenth hole and onwards.
Very heavy ra iu fell during last night, and was falling early' in the morning, but conditions from 8 a m onwards were delightful, but more sull try than the majority of players are used to. j 1 j
