VISCOUNT MORLEY

MR. ASQUITH'S TRIBUTE.

(DNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN - NEW ZEALAND CA'BUS ASSOCIATION.)

'i LONDON, 24th September. , Mr. Asquith to-night made a statement, in which he said : .."Viscount Morley's death is .not a tragedy, but it means the disappearance of the last survivor of the heroic age. Ho was my first political mentor, and for upwards of thirty years a wise counsellor, the best of comrades, and in the last years an unfailing, devoted, and revered friend. Only last week I had a letter from him which I shall always treasure. _ _ English literature and the great traditions of public life will be impoverished by his loss."
