BOY SCOUTS

LOWER HUTT TROOPT

At the weekly meeting, of the Lower Hutt Troop of Boy Scout* there was a good attendance. An official visit was paid by the Boys' Committee of the Rotary Club, and they made the meeting a very jolly one. The interest taken in the small boys by their big brothers was very pleasing, and : aided them greatly in their tasks. Mr. Amos, the Commissioner for Wellington, and Mr. E. Xawson, the Organising Secretary for Wellington, were both present, and paid tribute to the work performed by the boys.. •., ■ . . . Mr. Amos referred to .the great necessity for the boys to thoroughly understand the scout law as well as being able to repeat it, and to apply it to their, daily lives in every practicable way; he further urge* the boys to extend their "daily, good turns" to the utmost, not-forgetting that; mother and father should be looked to first, and then those outside the home. Colonel Roberts spoke on the point of service to others," and referred to the good work performed by the troop during the epidemic of 1918. He urged the boys to be ever ready for any such emergency in the future.
