. Hearty accord with the Health Week movement was eipiesed by the Minister of Health (the Hon. Sir Maui Pomare) to-day. The Minister is leaving to-mor-row on a visit to the Cook Islands, but before departing from New Zealand he said he wished to commend the idea of Health Week to every individual throughout the Dominion"
■ "I wish Wellington and other centres every jiuccess in their Health Week," rernarkea the Minister, "and I hope that next year every-borough and every local authority will -wake up and follow the same example. After all, 1 preventive medicine is a thousand times better than curative medicine. An ounce of .prevention is worth more'than a ton of cure." Sir Maui Pomare added that he was very pleased to see that the medical profession was co-operating in' the Health Week campaign and rendering every as.sistance 'to make it a success. "We want to maintain the reputation of this country as' being the healthiest' oh the face of the globe," remarked the Minister, who stated that the Health Department was at-the service of the public, and would afford every possible aid to the efforts being exerted to impress on the minds of the people the necessity ■for observing the laws of health and sanitation in order to build up immunity against the onslaughts of disease.
