CROSS AND CRESCENT IN EGYPT.

CAIRO, 20th September. Zagh*l Pasha, the Nationalist leader, in * speech, insisted on Egyptian union. He praised the Copts, whom he described as equal to Moslems and declared that there were neither Copts nor Moslems, but all were Egyptians. The sacred union between the Cross and the Crescent deprived their adversaries of a weapon which they might use in maintaining their claim to remain in Egypt.
