What is considered to be the thin edge of the wedge of tfie peaceful penetration of Russia by Germany is disclosed by the details of a concession granted byethe Soviet to Germany in the region of the Mga and Rybrinsk railway.
The concession, which has received the sanction of the People's Commigs&rs, permits th« exploitation for 25 years of 1,030,000 deswatmes of fir pino foreet between the two main railways. The forest will yield an inexhaustible supply ot commercial timber of all sorts, and enable the establishment of paper, turpentine distillation, and cellulose indujtries. The German company, whose directors include Herr Wirth, the ex-Chancellor, is required to complete the railway.
