TAIHAPE, 22nd September. The foundation stone of the new nurses' home at Taihape Hospital, costing £6700. was laid by Dr. Pomare, Minister of Public Health, yesterday, in the presence of a large gathering. lii his address Dr. Pomare warned hospiLal boards to be cautious, in exoendi-

ture. The Department wanted no frills, but expenditure commensurate with efficiency. He referred to the nurses' superannuation scheme, which had been mentioned in Parliament, and which he hoped would be an accomplished fact next session. Had it not been' for the financial set-back, he was sure the superannuation scheme would have been adopted before. Those present at the function included Ihe chairman and members of the Hospital Board, the Mayor and councillors, the member -for the district.
