I WASHINGTON, 3rd September. Admiral Anderson, commanding the Asiatic American Fleet, has reported by wireless from Port Arthur that he has dispatched eight destroyers to the scene 'of the disaster, carrying food, medical supplies, and clothing, "which are expected to arrive on Wednesday. San Francisco wireless messages state that 1 looting hag been added to the I horrors in Tokio, where six looters have been killed under martial law. Municipal"relief work is proceeding, and refugees are being' supplied with provisions sent in from railroad stations which the earthquake has not harmed. (Received 4th September,'l2.3o p m ) WASHINGTON, 3rd September. The Government summoned the Japanese Ambassador to confer as to plans for affording relief.
