STATEMENT NOT YET POSSIBLE-

'.BEDMft'S TEUtfRAIC.)

(Received 3rd September, 9.30 a.m.)

LONDON, 2nd September. Official circles in London are gravely perturbed at the turn of ,eventa,, but it is impossible to give the view of the British Government regarding Italy's action in the absence of Mr. Baldwin and Lord Curzon. Lord Curzon's plans are unchanged, and he \yill not return to London before the middle of nest ■week.

The British view remains that the question must be left to the League of Nations. .

Mr. Amery is at present on his way to Malta, and is believed to have conferred with Mr. Baldwin at Aix le St. Bains.
