BRITISH ATTITUDE ENDORSED
(Received 14th August, 12.30 p<m.)
. - . NEW YORK, 13th August. The York Evening Post," commenting on the British Note, declares that above .the specific items in the Note stand out the surprise and protest of the British Government at the refusal of her late Allies to so much as consider , those- items.' France and Belgium simply wave them aside. This is not an attitude that will win the approval of the rest of the world. Britain is unquestionably right in taking the opposite course. '.
The "Sun" and "Globe" comment in a similar way, stating that clearly there is nothing.. left, for n responsible British 'statesmarisljipy if. the.argument fails, ■ but to extricate the nation by the best means available from the inevitable, economic .ruin which is s_u're to come about if the French course is much longer tacitly accepted/
