SHARES BEING RAPIDLY TAKEN

DUNEDIN, 13th August. At a meeting of the provisional directors, of the New Zealand and South Seas inhibition Company this evening, shares to the number of 54,491 were allotted The chairman (Mr. J. Sutherland Koss) expressed gratification at the ready response that had been made to the invitation to take up shares, and referred to the excellent work done by the collectors, arid also by Mr. W. E C. Eeid and his staff. ■ Mr. Tapley commented .in, complimentary terms on the response made ye «lanufi«:turcrs, who had taken up 27,000 shares. It was decided that tho statutory meeting of shareholders, who number about_soo, should be held on Monday, 17th September, at 8 p.m. A deputation consisting of Sir George tenwick, the Mayor (Mr. H. L Tapley) ™d*. J- Sutherland Ross will leave for Wellington to-morrow mornipg, and discuss matters connected -with" the exhibition with the Prime Minister ou Thursday morning.
