Provision has been made in this year s estimates for rectifying present shortcomings as to the drainage from Stirling terrace, Northland, and. instructions have been given as to the clearing away of sand from the outfalls at Lyall The reply aiso sta**s tnat_a start has been made towards the provis lO n:6f baths for Thorndon by the purchase of a site in Murphy street.
