SPREADING AT BLENHEIM.

BLENHEIM, 10th August. The influenza epidemic is widening its scope in> Blenheim, though fortunately serious cases are few and far between. There are a number of cases in the Wairau Hospital, and it is reported that seven nurses are affected. At the borough school there were 279 absentees this morning, this representing 40 per cent, of the roll. A number of parents are beginning to ask themselves why the school is not closed.

Dr. Julian, medical superintendent at the hospital, is one of the victims.
