A NEW TRIAL

JURY DISAGREES IN CO DLL

CASE.

After a retirement of* over four hours the jury in the case of Frank Victor Herbert Coull, the ex-officer of the Repatriation Department, who stood his trial this week on charges of forgery, uttering, and theft, announced that there was no possibility of an agreement.

A new trial was applied for, and this was ordered by the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) to take place next week. Mr. P. S. K. Macassey appeared for the Crown, and the prisoner was represented by Sir John Findlay, K.C., with him Mr. J. S. Hanna.

Coull was released on bail,
