FROZEN BEEF UNSALEABLE. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, ltd., report having received the foUowing cablegram from their London house, under date of the 9th August:—; "Lamb: New Zealand prime crossbred lamb, Canterbury, heavy; lOJd; light, Hid; North Island heavy, lOd; light, IOJd. Demand for lamb better, owing to warm weather. Any change m price is in favour of buyers. "Mutton: New Zealand prime crossbred mutton, Canterbury, heavy, 7d; light, BJd; North Island, heavy, 7d; light, Bd. Demand for mutton steady; prices firm. "Beef: New Zealand prime os beef, hinds, notni 1 ' demand .for beef; prices "Australian Frozen Meat: Good average quality lamb, Australian, heavy, Od; light 9Jd. Demand for Australian lamb fair. Good average quality mutton, Australian, heavy, 5Jd; light, 5Jd. Demand for Australian S?H * Very heavy quantity of chilled beef has been pitched this week; price fallen to 4}d for hindquarters, and 2d for foreouarters; consequently frozen beef i 3 unsaleable. "Tallow: Auctions resumed to-day 1350 casks offered, 700 casks sold. Prices unchanged, except for good jnixed, Is per-cwt lower, quoted at 39s Cd; beef neglected."
