THE TEA INDUSTRY
An interesting address on "The Tea Industry" was given at the Rotary Club luncheon yesterday by Rotarian John P. Phillips. The speaker traced the history of the industry from the sixth century, when tea came into nee in China, until the present time, when it was a popular beverage in practically every country in the world. Tea wae first used in England in the sixteenth century, when it cost about £6 per pound. The speaker dealt with the methods of cultivation and the process of dealing with the tea for use. He denied that good tea was harmful. Tannin, in fact, was not at all injurious in the highly blended article. Tho speaker wqb atiordod * vote of .thank* for hit gddiew. '
