PALMERSTON N., 7th August. Lhe Supreme Court opened this morning Mr. Justice Hosking presiding. Rennie Hughes, a Maori youth, having pleaded guilty in the Lower Court to three charges of theft, was sentenced to three years' reformative treatment.
DUNEDIN, 7th August. _ The criminal session of the Supreme Court opened this morning, before Mr. Justice Sim. Thero were only three criminal charges, the grand jury bringing in a true bill in each case. ■ Robert 1 George Sutherland, convicted of breaking, entering, and theft, was released on probation for a term of five years.
