WATERSIDE WORKERS
MONTHLY BUSINESS MEETING.
Tho monthly stop-work meeting of the Wellington Waterside Workers' Union was held to-day, commencing at 8 a.m. and concluding at 10 a.m., the labour call being extended a quarter o£ an hour. The object of the meeting was to discuss the recommendations of the now executive. Mr E. Brigden, the new president, was chairman, and a number of members extended congratulations to him on his election. The returning officer (Mr. J. Smart) reported on the recent eloctions. The treasurer (Mr. B. Cooley) and the three trustees (Messrs. J. Smart. W. M'Kwen. and It. Campbell) wero given power to operate on the union's account with the bank. Mr. L. Glover was elected to tho position of delegate on the executive council for tho No. 2 Stevedores Department Tho secretary (Mr. J. Laurenson). reported in connection with tho band instruments nnd ho and Messrs. A. Bevan, J. Smart,' and T. Napier were appointed a committee; to collect, pack, and store tho instruments, and to deal with other matters in connection with them. Messrs. 1,. Glover E Harrison, and W.
