STRAND THEATRE.

cv j PS? r Programme at the btrand Theatre to-day contains three featured pictures. ("Oliver Twist" is the principal film, and stars little Jackie Coogan. It is the appeal of innocent boyhood through one of the greatest stories ever written. Tho plot has been followed with unusual fidelity, and the characterisations should satisfy the most enthusiastic Dickens reader. " The second feature, ."Tho Master Man," stars the veteran actor, Frank'Keenan. This is a drama of politics centring about an unusually powerful personality, Emanuel, Blake, the character portrayed by tho star. It is a part which fits Mr. Keenan particularly well. When anything'gets in his way his motto reads, "Crush it." But there is something good in the worst,.and this proves the rule with respect to Blake,. And it is a woman who awakens within him something finer, and at first perhaps it is only pity, but soon after it turns to love, and when the tale is done • there is a new Blake to be reckoned 'with. Larry Semon will be seen in his latest comedy, "The Counter Jumper," while the supports are of unusual interest.
