GRADING OF DAIRY PRODUCE.
, The establishment of Napier as a grading port for dairy produce, and the appointment of a grading officer for thesame port, will be the subject of a question_ to be asked of the Minister of Agriculture by Mr. G. M'Kay (Hawkes My) *W ?°US! of ReP«sentatives. Air. SI Kay intends to ask the Minister whether he will take immediate steps towards this end. He points out that_ dairy produce can be shipped from xNapier from a large dairying area extending as far north as Nuhaka, from 1923 and that there are fifty-seven in! sulated steamers available for loading the produce at Napier. If putter is graded at Napier it has not to be railed to Wellington and graded there The man_ appointed as grading expert at Napier in the off period could act as an instructor to dairymen, -which would eventually eliminate second-grade butter
