. MELBOURNE, This Day. Mr. W. G. Gibson, Postmaster-Gen-eral, commenting oil the shipping report regarding-speedier mail services, said that the mail boats would soon be converted to burn oil, and would thus save four days iii bunkering oh the voyage. Ho added thit attempts to renew the land service from Brindisi to Calais on the old terms had been unsuccessful.
