BRAWL ON KAIMANAWA
GREASER USES KNIFE,
A brawl between a firemap and a greaser took place on the steamer Kaimanawa, on Saturday night, when the injudicious" use of a knife by one of the parties, William Roberts, 33 years of resulted in his appearance before Mr. F. X- , Hunt, S.Jf,, at the Magistrate's Court to-day, on a charge of assaulting Alexander Marshall 50 .as to pause tiiiji sptual bodily harm.

" The 'Sub-Inspector pointed out if, had been ascertained that the men had previously been on fairly friendly terms The vessel was leaving to-night for Westport, en route to Australia. "You can fight as much as you like," remarked the Magistrate to the accused "hut yoii must pot use a knife." A fine of £5, in default one month's imprisonment, was. imposed.
