CAIRO. 18th July. The Hedjaz dispute has aroused the keenest controversy in the Press. The action of the Egyptian Government is generally approved. A proposal that the Powers should proclaim the Hedjaz a neutral State, administered by the International Moslem Council, finds strong support.
The dispute between the King of the Hedjaa and the Egyptian Government arose h>. connection with the usual pijgrimage. to Mecca. The King declined to permit an Egyptian medical mission to accompany the pilgrim:* on the ground that the Hcdjaz possessed ' sufficiently good medical supervisors. therefore, the Egyptian Government■ recalled the missi.V, which was conveying the sacred carpet from Cairo to Mecca.
