■, LONDON, 18th July. The story of a suicide pact was told at the inquest on Florence Jones, aged twenty. A statement made by Robert Sheppard^aged 23, was read. It showed that he and the girl lived together^ and contemplated marriage when she was 21. . Becoming depressed by their prospects, they mutually agreed to comnlit suicide by gas-poisohinsr. The »irl turned on the gas, asking Sbeppard to go to the next room and then follow. While he was waiting h e regretted his action, and returned to the room, but was too late. The jury found that the deceased was aided and abetted by Sheppard, who was committed, for trial.
