MEETING OF MANAGEMENT

COMMITTEE.

The weekly meeting of the Executive Committee .of the Wellington Football Association was held last evening, Mr. A. E. Wells presiding. ' ■ The City Council notified that the use of the Basin Reserve had .been 'granted to the association for Bth September in lieu of 23th July. Tlie Hutt Association Football/Club asked Miat the Hutt third-grade team be given an opportunity to .play-a.-curtain-raiser on the Basin Reserve before the season closes. The matter was referred to" the Fixtures Committee.

The question of the amount of travel-, ling teams are subjected to, particularly suburban teams, was referred to, following upon a request from the coach of the Institute sixth division team that his club's next match be played in town. The matter was left tp the Boys' SubCommittee. .

The Hospital Club asked for permission to play the Sunnyside and Seacliff Mental Hospitals. The team intended leaving Wellington on 21st July, and would meet Sunnyside at. Christchurch on 23rd July, and Seacliff on 25th" July. It was also understood that the Seacliff Hospital Club was desirous of arranging a match against an Otago team, the opposing team to be, selected from Porirua and Seacliff. The Porirua team anticipated arriving back at -Wellington on 28th July. Permission was granted.j The Auckland Association wrote stat-; ing that a, visit from Wellington Tepre-' sentatives would be very welcome. The letter stated that it was agreed that the Wellington Association play for the Brown Shield, in which the 'AucklandCommittee would .be prepared to guarantee £50, with the provision that if the t;at3 were a big one, then the condi-' tiohs of the Brown Shield matches be complied with. The dates submitted were iStli August or Bth September. It was.decided to .suggest to, the: Auckj land Committee that £75 be substituted I for the £50 mentioned in. the letter.
