The . Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union met last even.mg, when Mr.: &: S.Dean presfded. Canterbury advised that their, match with Hawkes Bay on Ijsth August would be a Ranfurly Shield game, provided Hawkes Bay then held-the shield. ■

The president remarked that the cost of the New South Wales ; Rugby tour would be £6452. making it necessary that eaeli"-;"of' the ten matches should" yield £650-to clear expenses. It was decided to advise those unions protesting against : the gate charges: accordingly.
