TARANAKI TOO GOOD FOR MARLBOROUGH.
• STRATFORD,. 18th July: Taranaki met Marlborough this afternoon, winning:by 17 points:to 6. The weather Was good and the ground > dry. In the first spell,, from a; free kick awarded to Taranaki, Brown coaled; Brown scored'a try from a passing rusbl, the kick failing,- and Brown kicked a Second penalty goal. In the second spell Wilson scored a, try for the visitors, the lcick failing. Taranaki attacked, and Hart ecbred, no goal resulting, Taranaki scored a further try, and Brown goale.d ; within a- few minutes of time Giinn kicked a goal from a mark. The visiting forwards held their opponents well, shining on the line-put and holding their own in the scrums'. The Taranaki backs outclassed their opponents.
