SUBSIDIES TO LIBRARIES
NO PROVISION THIS'YEAR. •
In view of the necessity of confining expenditure at the present time to essential services, stated the Minister of Education (the Hon. CJ J. Pair), in the House.of Representatives' this aftemoor* the Government regrets it cannot see its way to provide for subsidies to libraries ■ during tho current financial year.
