ORGAN RECITAL.

The principal item on the programme of the City_ Organist (Mr. Bernard F. Page) at his weekly recital last evening was Bach's Toccata and Fugue in O Major, the only composition in -which the old master attempted to adapt the orthodox concerto three-movement form to they organ. The three movements are in striking contrast, the bold pedal work of the opening section being set against the beautiful adagio, and ths triumphant theme of the finale. Olaussman's Elegie was given a delightfully-colour-ed .interpretation, and the part harmonies of the second movement from Debussy's String Quartette, which was played in place of the Fountain Music from the same composer's opera, "Pelleas and Jlelisande," were very delight f?. 1-,' pother satisfying number was VValthers Prize Song from "The Mastersmgers" (Wagner). Wolstenholme's Finale in B Flat brought a fine recital to a close. The Bach work was subjected to an interruption, and Mr Page stopped, and repeated the work "later in the programme.
