ALEX ANDERSON. CHAMPION OF NEW ZEALAND.

(BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION,) PALMSRSTON N., 20th June. A wrestling contest for the heavyweight catch-as-catch-caii championship of New Zealand to-night between Alex. Anderson (lOst 71b). of Palmerston North, and T. Kara (16st), of Hawkes Bay, w.is won. by the former, despite the fact that his opponent is over four stone heavier. The contest was mostly in Anrlorsou's favour, who gained two successive pin falls, the first after 68 minutes, and the second after 11 minutes. Kara gave up at the second fall. Tenncnt Colledge (lOst 71b), of Auckland, and Bob De Cleeiio (lOst alb), of Palniorston North, wrestled a draw", after thirty minutes, neither securing a fall. C. C. M'Donald (lOst 41b), 'of Turalrina, and the amateur champion of Scot-' land, Dave Pointon (lOst 101b), of Hawkes Bay, gave a. brilliant display, M'Donald receiving' one fall in fivo rounds.
