A DETERMINED INCENDIARY

ASHBURTON, 14th June.
After sprinkling three outer doors of a house at Staveley with petrol, an incendiary, who is unknown, then set alight to them in the small hours of the morning. A noise awoke the occupant, Mr. 11. F. Ford, whose exit was barred by the two doors being barricaded. Breaking through the third door ho reached outside and 'extinguished the flames. The pulico are investigating the matter.
