' CHINESE PRESIDENT'S FLIGHT ENDED.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.t-COPTRIQHT.)
(AUSTRALIAN' MEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.)
PEKIN, 13th June. Li Yuan-hung, the President, who fled because of a threatened uprising on the pai-t of dissatisfied, soldiers, is being held prisoner in his special train at Tientsin by troops under command of Chen-ping, Governor of the Chih-li Province. Attempts by the British and American Consuls to confer with the President were unsuccessful, the British Consul being forcibly prevented from approaching the train. It is said that the President is being detained because he is in possession of the Government seals, which he carried with him in his flight. Cabinet met at Pekiri to-day in an attempt to function in the absence of Li Yuan-hung, who appears to have been driven out by the threats of the militarists. The city remains quiet, despite the fears of disturbances.
