! EETAINED BY AUCKLAND, (BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) HAMILTON, 4th June. The Association football Brown Shield match, resulted in a, win for Auckland (holders); who defeated South Auckland by 2 goals to nil. Owing to heavy rain the ground was a quagmire, and play consequently - erratic. The game was more humorous than scientific owing to the players sliding about in the mud. There was a large attendance, despite the squally weather.
