The agreement under which the men *re -working will expire at. the eni of June, and the secretary of the New Zealand Workers' iJnion (Mr. 0, Grayjidler) has written -to the Minister of Public Works (Mr. J. G-. Coates) iskinff that a conference be. held, to discuss new claims, which are being formulated. Tha Minister has replied, fixing 21st June as tile date of the conference. Approximately 50GO men are affected. The expiring agreement had a, currency ol twelve months. -
