LODGE MEETING

The .fortnightly meeting of-the Newtown Alpha branch, G.U.0.0.F., was held in the lodge room, Masonic Hall, Donald M'Lean street, Newtown, on Wednesday night at 8 o'clock, Bro. L. Ponder, N.S., presiding. ,-A visit -was paid by two of the district officers, Bro. Baines, D.M., and Bro. C. Martin, D.S. After they were welcomed, Bro. L. Ponder asked Bro. Baines to take the chair and conduct the business of the evening. Bro. C. Martin, D.S., gave a very interesting account of the ■work the District Lodge is doing. Throe new members were initiated, including two lady candidates. Bro. Bnines declared the meetirtg cloacd with the hoaours of the order.
